I am a strategic thinker and effective leader with more 25 years of experience. I enjoy a good joke and like to think that I don’t take myself too seriously. I am serious, however about helping organizations have better conversations. When I hear a group tell me that ‘we couldn’t have done this without help’ or ‘we really needed to have that conversation’, I know that I have left the work world a little better than I found it – and that is serious stuff!
Other things you might want to know:
I led strategic planning and business intelligence teams at Devon Energy and Bell Canada, and held marketing management roles at TELUS Mobility and MTS Mobility. I also taught marketing and business policy at Red Deer College. I now teach other facilitators (which I love!).
I am a Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF) and Certified Technology of Participation (ToP) Facilitator (CTF) and strategist who believes that strategy can be elegant and effective without being overly complex. The strategic planning process creates thoughtful focus; execution makes the difference. Continuous attention to strategy has more value than an over-wrought process.
I have been facilitating meetings for many years and was trained by Roger Schwarz, one of the leading academics in the facilitation world today and by ICA Associates, responsible for developing the renown Technology of Participation (ToP) method. I have trained with Sam Kaner, Multi-Stakeholder Engagements and am currently working on a certificate in Conflict Resolution through the Justice Institute.
In collaboration with ICA Associates, I provide facilitation skills training for public and private (or in-house) courses.
I am a member of the International Association of Facilitators (IAF) and the ToP Network. I am an associate of ICA Associates (very wise), Lead2Perform (very smart) and Cenera (very effective). I freelance for Communciatto (very fun) too!
